VENMO 855-812-4430 NYUS (2024)

What is it?

This is a charge from Venmo, a mobile payment service founded in 2009 and owned by PayPal since 2012. The company allows you to pay and request money from friends and family. You can also shop at businesses using a Venmo credit card or Venmo debit card as well.

Why this charge may appear on your card

You're likely seeing this charge because you paid or received money through Venmo. If you didn't make this payment, it's possible someone else did, which may be an early indication of fraud. Venmo does not charge for sending money from a linked bank account, debit card, or your Venmo account. There is a 3% fee for sending money using a linked credit card.

What can you do?

If you don't recognize the charge, you can contact Venmo's customer service department. You can also call your bank or credit card company and dispute the charges and try to recover the money.

How to Contact Venmo

You can contact the company on Venmo's website. For the fastest service, chat with customer service using Venmo's mobile app (M–F, 6:00am–11:59pm CT; Sat–Sun, 8:00am–10:00pm CT). Or call Venmo at (855) 812-4430 (8:00am-8:00pm CT, seven days a week)

Community Feedback

I had this charge twice on my Discover card and panicked a little after looking this up online. I checked my Venmo account and saw 2 different charges to a mans name and luckily he had added the comment on the payment that it was for my gutter installation on 2 diff homes. They were legit, at least for me. You should be able to look at all transactions on Venmo to see what they were for. Hopefully it was a payment for something you forgot about like I did.

Will use an automated call prompt pretending to be VenmoThey will say you sent money to somone of X amount and want to confirm you didn’t make this charge

HANG UP

They are not Venmo they will try to get your code

When I hung up the code arrived to my phone almost immediately and they blew up my phone number

Venmo will never ask you for this code don’t ever give it over the phone.

It seems to be IMPOSSIBLE to talk to a Venmo representative! No matter what numbers I press, they keep taking me back to a recording I have already heard. There was a fradulent charge against me. I do not have a Venmo account, yet I got a quarterly statement with someone named Chelsie Potter behind the charge. I do not want a Venmo account AND I want my money back!!! How can I talk to a representative????????????

My wife had added my card to her Venmo for emergencies and some charges popped up. Took a little investigating to be sure. So this isn't a scam charge, but it is possible your card number was stolen and used this way. Just make sure to verify the charge.
