Carburetor maintenance and adjustment
The main complaints of users of this Poulan model relate to the fact that the engine starts and may stall, runs unevenly or with dips.
First of all, we recommend paying attention to the air filter. It must be thoroughly cleaned, and in some cases washed in gasoline. Most often, after this procedure, engine performance improves, but failures and dips in the set of revolutions can still be observed.
In this case, we can not do without adjusting the carburetor. The adjustment operation is carried out by three screws marked L (adjusts the quality of the mixture at idle), H (responsible for the quality of the mixture at high speeds) and screw T, which is responsible for idling the engine.
- At the first stage of setting up the carburetor, we tighten the screws L and H until they stop, then turn them back one and a half turns;
- We are trying to start the engine. If this fails immediately, we repeat attempts, first turning screw T at ¼ turns, until we start the engine;
- We let the motor warm up for 8-10 minutes, then with the screw H we increase the engine speed to the maximum and turn the screw from this point by a quarter of a turn;
- With the idle screw, we reset the engine speed to normal;
- We check the throttle response of the engine by running it in different modes.

I bought a Poulan 2150 saw four years ago. I use it regularly, mainly harvesting and sawing firewood. My assembly is still American, according to the documents.
