The number of Primogems available in the Genshin Impact 4.8 update has been leaked, hinting at what may be a worthwhile time for players who are either pulling for the new 5-star character or saving up for the Natlan characters arriving later this year. Version 4.8 is expected to be the final update before the addition of the Nation of Pyro and the start of the action RPG’s fourth year of content. Aside from the official confirmation of the new character Emilie in Genshin Impact 4.8, little else has been revealed by developer HoYoverse about the upcoming update.
Leaks, however, are allowing players to gleam further into what they will be able to play through in the next patch. So far, leaks have mentioned that Emilie is a 5-star polearm user who specializes in working as a Dendro sub-DPS who boosts Burning reactions, for instance. There have also been multiple leaks regarding minor quality-of-life (QoL) updates, such as decreased respawn times for world bosses and even a new graphic setting. Now, some leaks are starting to predict how many Primogems will be available in Genshin Impact 4.8, a practice that has been going on for years now.

How Many Primogems You Will Get With Genshin Impact 4.8
The Wish Count Is Calculated Based On Regular Content & Leaks
Based on the regular content available in the game with every patch and the leaked information so far, players will get access to nearly 15,000 Primogems in Version 4.8. According to calculations that were then shared in a post tagged as “Speculation” on Reddit, Version 4.8 will offer players a total count of 14,905 Primogems, which amounts to around 93 Wishes to use in the banners. Still, according to this new Genshin Impact 4.8 leak, 53 of these Wishes will be obtainable during the first half of the update, which is referred to as Phase 1.
Rumored Primogem Count For Genshin Impact 4.8 Takes Several Activities Into Consideration
Free-To-Play Players Still Have Access To A Large Number Of Wishes
The calculation used to speculate how many Primogems players will get in Version 4.8 takes into consideration several activities that grant the resource, both in-game and outside it. Based on the graph provided in the leak, exploration alone, which will most likely be in the rumored new limited-time map, will grant players 1,035 Primogems. Alternatively, the limited-time events themselves will offer 2,260. These numbers are likely based on previous installments of maps and events that have occurred during the final patch before the arrival of a new region in Genshin Impact.
In Version 3.8, for instance, players had access to the Veluriyam Mirage, a limited-time map where the Secret Summer Paradise event took place.
For the estimation, the Wishes obtained via Stardust Exchange are also taken into consideration, as well as maxing out the Spiral Abyss and the Imaginarium Theater. Outside the game, players can also increase their Primogem count by getting the login bonuses from HoYoLAB, redeeming the respective livestream codes, participating in web events, and getting them from Twitch drops. F2P (free-to-play) players who do not purchase any extra bonuses, according to the calculation, will have access to up to 9,385 Primogems, which amounts to 58 Wishes. Out of these, 36 are expected to be available in Genshin Impact 4.8’s first half.

The estimation also shows that players who subscribe to the Blessing of the Welkin Moon offer can increase their total Primogem count from the 9,385 F2P ones to 13,575, which translates into roughly 84 Wishes – 49 of which are obtainable during Phase 1. If players subscribe to both the Welkin Moon service and purchase the premium Battle Pass, the count rises to the equivalent of 14,905 Primogems, which allows players to make 93 Wishes. 53 of these 93 total Wishes in Genshin Impact 4.8 are also, allegedly, obtainable in the first half of the update.

The calculation predicts that there will be no new Achievements in Version 4.8, therefore the regular Primogems that come from such feats are not calculated. It is also worth noting that the number offered by the estimation takes into consideration the maximum amount of Primogems and Wishes during the update if players are not using the top-up system to buy more. This also means that players can only reach these Primogem counts by maxing out all the activities that are listed in the Genshin Impact leak, from the limited-time events to the Twitch Drops and HoYoLAB logins, for instance.
The calculation does not consider older quests and first-time completions of certain activities like the Imaginarium Theater, for instance. If players catch up on older activities during Version 4.8, they may increase their Primogem count.
Fewer Primogems May Be Available In Genshin Impact 4.8 Than In Version 4.7
The Current Speculation Hints At More Than 20 Extra Wishes In Comparison To The Current Update
Based on the leak, the new update may be less generous when it comes to the Primogems offered to players. The 93 estimated Wishes are enough for players to reach and surpass their first pity within the gacha system, should they be willing to spend it all during the update. However, in comparison to the amount of Primogems in Genshin Impact 4.7, players are getting around three fewer Wishes in the next patch. The same calculation made for the current update predicted players would be able to get an estimated 96 Wishes, including Welkin Moon and the Battle Pass.
In comparison, however, Version 4.7 is introducing a brand new game mode called Imaginarium Theater, which offers a first-time completion bonus. This bonus was considered for the calculation, which helped with the total estimation. Additionally, the Spiral Abyss is getting more cycles in Version 4.7 than it is expected to have in Version 4.8, which also lowers the Primogem count. Nevertheless, the number of Primogems estimated in Version 4.8 seems to be in line with most of what is offered with every Genshin Impact update, even if a little bit less.
