The Binding of Isaac is a roguelike game; this genre features procedurally generated dungeons and permadeath.

Death is one of the Four Horsem*n of the Apocalypse. Death's scythe attack is a homage to Castlevania's recurring boss, Death. Both summon four scythes that stay put for a few seconds, then home in on the player. Death is currently the only enemy in-game that can use a status effect against Isaac.

While firing, creates an aura around Isaac that poisons any nearby enemies for 2 ticks. The poison may stack up to 6 ticks at a time. The aura range is approximately two tiles.

Dead Cat always sets your Red Hearts to 1. That means if you have 0, it goes to 1. Now, because you're Blue Baby, you have 0 Red Hearts, and just like all other health up items, you get +1 Soul Heart. So basically, as Blue Baby, you get an extra Soul Heart plus 9 lives.

The Poop can be used to destroy retractable spikes when they're retracted. If used on top of a destroyed red poop, this will effectively remove it from the room permanently.

A list of items with a dark, occultish theme that count towards the Leviathan transformation. Collecting three or more triggers it, granting Isaac flight and two black hearts.

Spectral tears can be used to safely dispatch most types of monsters from behind obstacles, or over them in combination with flying. Allows tears to pass through both enemies and obstacles if combined with Piercing. Makes tears bounce off walls, enemies and environmental objects.

Defeating Hush for the first time spawns a Final Boss Chest. Moving into the chest unlocks Ending 17 and ends the run.
